There are many reasons for this page. While there is much information on Muscular Dystrophy on the internet and various other places. I wanted to provide a place where I could talk about what I have learned about myself.

Let me make it perfectly clear that I am neither a doctor or any other type of health care professional. My only knowledge comes from the fact that I have a form of MD called Friedreich's Ataxia. I have spent some time looking for information and possible treatments which I will share with anyone here.

I invite anyone to share any knowledge they may have with visitors to this site. Simply email me

I'm afraid there was no way to make this short as there is lots of information here. Some may apply to many people and some only to me. I have to make another point here...I use homeopathic remedies, some people have a very difficult time accepting that and if you are one of the people are unwilling to consider them I would suggest that you not even read any further.
I asked the homeopath one day who is helping me what advice I could give people with one of the forms of MD? His answer was "Get to a good homeopath as soon as possible"

April 2006
Have slipped and not documented things like I normally do this month. Will get back to my normal routine after this.

Mon April 3 2006. Still taking the Bioplasma. Seems to dry up the runny nose for a little while each time I take it. Legs still very weak. Doesn't really feel like a cold just plugged up with a runny nose. Today it's yellow green. Holding Bladder pretty good.

Tues April 4 2006. Was cold all night. Got up today very stiff and having trouble moving. Couldn't stand long enough to pull clothes up (balance). Nose running pretty clear today rather than yellow like yesterday. Dragging toes when I walk and can barely move my feet because of my knees locking.

Thurs April 6 2006. Fell asleep on the couch last night and didn't get up till about 11 am today. Still pretty stiff and have trouble moving. Standing up was difficult and balance was off still. Nose still varies from blocked to running, Bioplasma still seems to help short term. Got an email tonight suggesting linseeds may help, I'll have to check into it.

Fri April 7 2006. Took a dose of Lathyrus LM1 before going to bed. Legs still stiff and weak when I got up, balance still bad. Worked in the yard some even though legs hurt. Had bad storms all night. Nose still runs and chest is feeling tight.

Sat April 8 2006. Took another dose of Lathyrus LM1 before going to bed. Legs felt the same when I got up. Did wake up 2 or 3 times during the night to turn over, once with a bad cramp in left calf. Haven't noticed any improvement yet.

Sun April 9 2006. Took a third test dose of Lathyrus before bed last night. Can't be sure but was up early today and possibly got to my feet a little better. Worked outside most of the day and got pretty stiff and sore. Last few weeks I have noticed if I try to lay on my left side, right leg hurts, not as bad if I lay on right side.

Sat April 30 2006. Haven't been able to buy new remedies (money is tight), as a consequence have had some problems. A couple of times I thought there might be a slight improvemrnt but it didn't last so I guess it was just a couple of good days. I had been taking the Bioplasma and while there were no major improvements that I could tell after not taking it for a few days I did seem to get a little worse. Last 3 days have had some low back pain (much worse if I try to walk), Right hip and both shoulders so sleeping has been difficult from the pain. It has been very difficult to stand long enough to get dressed or undressed. I did talk to a homeopath online and sent him a questionaire and he sent me back some suggestions for some remedies to try, hopefully I'll be able to get them around the middle of the month.
