About Muscular Dystrophy, Personal Log Feb 2008

There are many reasons for this page. While there is much information on Muscular Dystrophy on the Internet and various other places. I wanted to provide a place where much of that information could be located easily.

Let me make it perfectly clear that I am neither a doctor or any other type of health care professional. My only knowledge comes from the fact that I have a form of MD called Friedrich's Ataxia. I have spent some time looking for information and possible treatments which I will share with anyone here.

If you read as much as I have from the conventional medical field you tend to lose hope of a treatment or cure.

My feelings are do as much as you can. I never accept what the doctors tell me and I do things they say I can't do. My younger brother never let his condition stop him as long as he could keep going he did and attempted things even I didn't consider.

I'm afraid there was no way to make this short as there is lots of information here. Some may apply to many people and some only to me. I have to make another point here...I use homeopathic remedies, some people have a very difficult time accepting that and if you are one of the people are unwilling to consider them I would suggest that you not even read any further.
I asked the homeopath one day who is helping me what advice I could give people with one of the forms of MD? His answer was "Get to a good homeopath as soon as possible"

Feb 2008

Started the new remedy. There have been a couple of small improvements and I'm hoping their will be more as time goes on.

Fri Feb 1 2008. Had trouble sleeping last night. Had that electric sensation in head and neck when I got up. Bladder was very full when I got up, knees wouldn't bend and legs have been very stiff. Waiting on the Bell 200 to get here. I'm trying Bell 30 tonight while I wait.

Sat Feb 2 2008. Feet were warm to the touch but hurt like they were cold. Right foot felt like there was something heavy on it, inside of foot from bug toe halfway back. Legs hurting when I got up. Was up every 2 hours to urinate last night. Got up about an hour earlier than normal. Some low back pain today and got a headache tonight (between eyes and into left eye, feels sore). Have been tired all day. Will wait and see if I feel better tomorrow.

Sun Feb 3 2008. Feet weren't bad last night but I did wear socks to bed. Ankles wern't turning too bad today but feet were twisting. Knees wouldn't bend to sit down. Bladder has been about the same. Still very tired today. Taking the Bell 30 again tonight.

Mon Feb 4 2008. Feet hurt again last night and had the sensation of being cold. Couldn't get comfortable. Woke up early today then went back to sleep again and slept late. Taking the Bell 30 again since the 200 isn't here yet.

Tues Feb 5 2008. Haven't noticed any change. Bell 200 came today and my instructions were to take a water dose once a day for 5 days, stop if there is significant improvement or aggravation. Starting with first dose tonight.

Wed Feb 6 2008. Legs and feet hurt some last night. Got up early today. Not sure but I had the feeling that maybe legs were a tiny bit stronger. Taking second dose tonight.

Thurs Feb 7 2008. Legs and feet hurt again last night and neck was sore all the way down into back, made it difficult to go to sleep. Got up early and was tired and sleepy all day. Haven't noticed any change today. Taking a 3rd dose tonight and turning in early.

Fri Feb 8 2008. Was very sleepy last night so I fell asleep faster than usual. Got up with a stiff neck and headache but that's normal when I go to bed early. When I first went to the bathroom this morning it took 2 tries to get to my feet. Haven't noticed any real difference in symptoms so taking 4th dose tonight.

Sat Feb 9 2008. Left foot was warm last night but right was cold and hurting. Couldn't go to sleep, kept turning over then back. Back has hurt all day today, low right. Still haven't noticed any change. Taking 5th dose tonight.

Sun Feb 10 2008. Right foot cold again last night. Stomach got sore late in the night. Woke up with a stiff neck and headache again. Haven't noticed any change.

Mon Feb 11 2008. Was weird last night, right foot was warm and left was ice cold. Stomach was cramping when I got up, stool was sour smelling and not real firm but not loose. Bach hurt all day again and have been very sleepy.

Tues Feb 12 2008. Changed back last night and right foot cold and left warm again. Haven't been real energetic. Taking the Bell again tonight.

Wed Feb 13 2008. Didn't know right foot was cold last night till I touched it. Feet and legs have hurt most of the day. Have been tired all day. Will take the Bell again tonight.

Thurs Feb 14 2008. Left foot warm, right cold but not too bad. Was very tired and seemed to go to sleep pretty fast. Very tired when I got up, sleepy all day. Off balance worse than usual, fell over in the bathroom and almost did another time later. Taking the Bell again tonight.

Fri Feb 15 2008. Feet were the same last night. Since I'm getting up earlier I seem to go to sleep faster lately. Had a stiff neck and headache when I got up and just generally didn't feel well all day. Stomach has been making noise since yesterday, pressure to have a stool but just noise is released along with some watery substance, burning feeling and stomach pain doesn't ease up much (have had this happen on a pretty regular basis). Will stop taking the Bell for a few days.

Sat Feb 16 2008. Left foot warm last night, right foot was just cool to the touch but hurt up near the toes. Left foot had a burning sensation in the evening when I was sitting around. Slept in a little later this morning, when I got up the headache and stiff neck wasn't as bad as yesterday. Circles around eyes looks a little better. Have a sharp pain just above the left shoulder blade (seems to be from my neck?). Sharp gripping pain in center of stomach (like a ball), went to the bathroom, mostly gas but pain eased up a little (not new). Noticed the red marks on chest and legs (small dark red spots) appear brighter to me. Have a sore spot in chest (right side about 2 inches over from center) (new). Pain in groin area, left side (have had before), comes and goes. Feet hurt and jerk on occasion.

Sun Feb 17 2008. Feet were the same last night. Tried to have a stool when I got up but couldn't, stomach hurt all day (gas pains) and it made noise and was sore. Went back and had a stool tonight, stomach felt better. Circles around eyes are back. Legs very weak when I got up. Both hands cramped bad tonight, drank a bottle of water and it eased up.

Mon Feb 18 2008. Both feet were warm last night (different). Woke up today feeling like hands were cramping (past symptom). Legs stiff and weak (continuing symptom). Ankles turning, both (return of old symptom-recent). Bloated feeling in stomach, pressing sensation in anus (continuing symptom). Pressure in eyes, feels like may be ready to develop headache (continuing symptom). Sore shoulders and upper arms, with sore feeling in neck (continuing symptom). Ears still ring constantly, there are times it's so loud I'm surprised I can hear anything else (continuing symptom).

Tues Feb 19 2008. Feet were just a little cool last night (continued improvement). Have been bored all day (normal). Stomach has had pressure all day, stools were watery. Legs weak (no change). Ears ringing (continuing symptom).

Wed Feb 20 2008. Feet were okay last night. Tension in the back of my neck and eyes sore when I got up. Legs very weak and gave out when I stood up in the bathroom. Stool was more normal today. Ears still ringing.

Thurs Feb 21 2008. Feet okay last night (improvement). Bladder has been good for awhile now (improvement). Stools firmer (improvement). Knees still stiff and won't bend (continuing symptom). Can't pick feet up, feels like they are stuck to the floor (continuing symptom). Ears ringing (continuing symptom). Very tired all day (continuing symptom).

Fri Feb 22 2008. Stayed up all night so can't say if feet would have been warm or not. Feet have had a burning sensation from the ankles down today with some pain associated with it. Taking the Bell tonight.

Sat Feb 23 2008. Feet were warm when I went to bed last night (continuing improvement). Feet feel like they are burning at various times when I'm wearing shoes (new). Ears ring louder than usual at various times (continuing symptom). Knees and legs still the same.

Sun Feb 24 2008. Feet still warm last night (continuing improvement). Very emotional today, no reason for it (maybe return of old symptom), which is a good thing. Ears ringing (continuing symptom). Stomach sore and cramping before a stool (continuing symptom).

Mon Feb 25 2008. Didn't go to bed last night. Feet have felt like they are burning today and toes feel like they are pulling up (return of old symptom). Feet and legs have hurt all day. Taking the Bell tonight.

Tues Feb 26 2008. Was very tired when I went to bed, right foot was just a little cool to the touch, left foot warm. Had the sensation they were cold and toes felt like they were pulling up. Went to sleep fast and slept close to 8 hours. Feet and legs jerked quite a bit yesterday, has been a little better today. Bottom lip is sore (feels like it's cracked), maybe from eating some chips yesterday, salt has that effect on me at times.

Wed Feb 27 2008. Got up with stiff neck, headache and plugged sinuses today. Headache lasted all day and sinuses drained all day. Feet were ok last night. Feet and legs have been hurting since late yesterday. Stools have been a little more regular. Feet seemed to be swelled up today. Sinus seems worse on left side, left ear felt like something was in it and when I tried cleaning it got a spot of blood and it was sore inside.

Thurs Feb 28 2008. Right foot was cold last night (symptom returning). Got up with the stiff neck, headache and plugged sinuses again. Feet and legs hurting (continuing symptom). Feet still swollen (continuing symptom). Taking the Bell tonight.
